Psychological Diseases: Book on Muslim Psychotherapy According to the Quran and the Sunna - Tawbah Editions
The study of human nature, its inclinations and its interaction with others has always been the object of desire and has contributed to the development of the science of the soul, 'ilm an-nafs, or in its modern denomination psychology.
Yet the teaching of psychology disregards religion and the relationship with God. To remedy this nonsense, some Muslim thinkers have tried to develop a psychology faithful to its original aspiration, in which spirituality would have its place. However, when we look at what is described as Muslim psychology or Islamic psychology, we find manifest contradictions with divine law.
We then see psychologists and "Muslim psychiatrists" spreading these ideas contrary to Islam and advocating for them. However, Islam provides real, timeless, and comprehensive solutions, allowing individuals to find a way out of all the afflictions that affect them.
It is therefore necessary to offer Muslims access to a true psychology and psychotherapy, drawing its source from the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), in light of the understanding of the pious predecessors; and this work aims to be a first step on this path.
This work is divided into several themes, as follows:
- Depression and anxiety disorders
- What role does the soul play in these afflictions?
- Passion as a master component of the soul, an obstacle to truth and happiness.
- Psychological disorders, an occult manifestation?
- Role of the patient's environment in the development of these ailments.
- Therapeutic synthesis - clinical cases
- What is the individual's responsibility in the ailments that affect them?
- Preventive psychotherapy.
- The causes of happiness.
