Scholars have grouped together what has been reported from the Messenger of Allah (saws), among the hadiths related to medicine in all its forms, dedicating chapters to them in their works. And they have also dedicated independent works to medicine, titled "Prophetic Medicine". This book, which is in your hands, is part of it, from the Imam and Ḥāfiẓ Ḍiyā’ ad-dīn Abū ʻAbdillāh Muḥammad ibn ʻAbd Al-Waḥid as-Saʻdī al-Maqdisī
"Allah has not sent a disease without sending a cure for it. The one who knows it, knows it, and the one who ignores it, ignores it." Reported by Imam Ahmad (3578). That is why the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, advised to seek treatment, saying: "Servants of Allah, seek treatment, for Allah has not created a disease without creating its cure, except for one." They asked: "What is it?" He said: "Old age." Jāmi` At-Tirmidhī (2038)
Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim (d. 751 H.), may Allah have mercy on him, said about the statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: "Every disease has a cure." This strengthens the patient, as well as the physician, and encourages the earnest search for this treatment. When the soul of the patient feels that there is a treatment that would dispel his illness, hope increases in his heart and refreshes the heat of despair, opening the door to hope. When the soul strengthens, its instinctive heat is expressed, which is a cause for strengthening the animal, vegetable, and natural spirits. When these souls strengthen, what drives them to do so also strengthens. Thus, they overcome the disease and push it back. Similarly, if the physician knows that this disease has a cure, he will be able to search for it earnestly. The diseases of the body are like the diseases of the heart. Allah has not sent a disease affecting the hearts without sending the remedy opposing it. If the one taking the treatment knows this and uses it, and it coincides with the pain of his heart, he will be cured, by the permission of Allah." Zād al-ma`ād (4/17)
