This book is a compilation of fatwas (legal rulings) issued by the greatest scholars of our time and related to marriage.

This work does not claim to address all topics related to marriage, such as its rulings and conditions, the rights and duties between spouses… There are many books that deal with these matters, and all praise belongs to Allah.

However, this book mainly contains fatwas on the importance of marriage, its virtues, as well as some advice and recommendations from contemporary scholars such as Sheikh ‘Abdul ‘Aziz Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him), Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-‘Uthaymin (may Allah have mercy on him), and Sheikh Dr. Salih Al-Fawzan (may Allah preserve him).
The intention behind choosing these fatwas is certainly to direct the Muslim reader towards the most eminent scholars of the community, but also to help them realize the importance of marriage in their lives, for it occupies a fundamental place in their journey towards Allah.
The objective of marriage is to preserve the chastity of the Muslim man and woman, and to keep them away from any illicit relationship. This is why marriage is considered half of the religion, and why Islamic legislation strongly encourages marriage, urges that it be made easy, and condemns anything that may hinder or obstruct its fulfillment.

There is no doubt that marriage brings many benefits and numerous religious and worldly advantages. It is what helps Allah’s servant in this life and in the Hereafter, in addition to preserving his virtue.

Without understanding the objectives of marriage, the Muslim man and woman will find themselves facing difficulties or problems due to their poor understanding of the religion—and this is the main reason why obstacles to marriage appear before them.

Indeed, obstacles to marriage are many and varied, hence the importance of referring to the scholars on this matter and making the right choices in life.
