Abu Bakr the truthful, as-siddiq, successor of the prophet, is the first man to have converted. The first caliph of Islam. He is also the first of the rightly guided caliphs. This blessed era predicted by the messenger of Allah as being in accordance with the prophetic way. Find here his life, his merits, his rise to power, and the events that took place under his caliphate, after the death of the prophet. And, notably, the apostasy movements and the conquests of Iraq and Shâm.
This work is extracted from the encyclopedia entitled Al-Bidâya Wan-Nihâya which, as its name suggests, traces the history of creation from its beginning to the end of time. Its authentic sources and scientific rigor make it a reference work and a consensus within the community. It must be said that its author, Hâfidh ibn Kathîr, needs no introduction. It is from this same encyclopedia that the stories of the prophets or the sira of the messenger are extracted.
Daralmuslim editions are therefore pleased to present the first work of the series in four parts named "the four rightly guided caliphs" tracing the history of Islam from the death of the prophet to the year 41 of the Hijra. To follow, in the same series, the caliphs 'Umar ibn Al-Khattâb, 'Uthmân ibn 'Affân and 'Ali ibn Abî Tâlib, may Allah be pleased with them.
