The Description of the Prophet's Prayer, by Muqbil Ibn Hadi Al-Wadi'i - IBN BADIS Edition
Prayer, the second pillar of Islam, is essential for preserving religion, it is the secret of success, atones for sins, elevates spiritual rank, and multiplies good deeds. Preserving prayer is a sign of faith, while neglecting its practice leads to perdition. This work, "The description of the Prophet's prayer", is the French translation of the book "Sifât Salât An-Nabî" by the scholar Sheikh Muqbil Ibn Hadi Al-Wadi'i, with annotations from his daughter 'Um Abd Allah.
The description of the Prophet's prayer
"Prayer is what is most important to the servant, after the two attestations of faith. He who performs it diligently and preserves it will certainly have preserved his religion. As for the one who neglects it, he will, assuredly, be even more negligent for the rest. It is the second pillar of Islam and its foundation, as authentically established from the Prophet: "The summit of the matter is Islam and its cornerstone is prayer". Because of its importance and rank, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) never ceased to make recommendations about it, even in the last moments of his life, as reported by Imam Ahmad in the Musnad with an established chain: "The last words of the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) were: "Prayer! Prayer! Fear Allah in what you possess!"
Prayer is the secret of success, the foundation of success and the first of its works on which the servant will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection. If it is valid, he will have succeeded; if it is not, he will have miserably failed. Preserving prayer is a sign of sincerity and faith, while neglecting it is a sign of degradation and perdition. Moreover, it allows the servant to expiate his sins, to elevate him in rank and to multiply his good deeds. That is why it is incumbent upon the Muslim to give it the value it deserves and to consider it as it should be, because, without it, the person's religion cannot be maintained and his works cannot be valid."
